Pure Evil
Pure Evil, the alias of Charles Uzzell-Edwards, is a graffiti and street artist best known for his iconic vampire bunny rabbit tag, inspired by feelings of remorse after he shot a rabbit during his childhood. Growing up surrounded by art as the son of the late Welsh painter John Uzzell Edwards, Charley views the name "Pure Evil" as a tongue-in-cheek commentary. He enjoys playing with dark imagery and satirizing the darker aspects of modern society. After relocating to California to escape the remnants of Thatcher's Britain, he worked as a designer for a clothing label called Anarchic Adjustment, creating screen-printed T-shirt graphics. His reemergence as an artist came through his involvement in the electronic music scene, where he began painting politically charged messages like "Dump Bush" on freeways and "Murderers" on gun stores. After a decade in California, he returned to London, where he started tagging his Pure Evil Rabbits all over the city. His work, characterized by an anarchistic spirit and a blend of street art and contemporary art, has been exhibited internationally in locations such as China, the USA, Mongolia, Russia, Brazil, and across Europe.
