A Welsh artist, Kerry Darlington was born in North Wales in 1974. She had formed a profound love for art and was inspired in childhood and early age by pictures of fairy tales and other stories from her childhood. She had a keen interest for Arthur Rackham. Though these were childhood fantasies, yet they compelled her to study a degree in illustration as she intended to become a book illustrator for children. During this time, she discovered and formed a great
attachment to the works Art Nouveau’ and the Pre-Raphaelite artists. The love was so great that it continues to have a deep impact on all her works.
Darlington is fond of working on her original works with acrylics, resin and texture. She has a habit of working in layers to pave way for creating light and build up depth. Resin is usually employed by her as a medium.
Darlington has enjoyed immense success with her unique editions as each and every one of them is unique in one way or another. Her 3D additions have been individually hand-worked and all adhere to print apart from a hand embellished background. Resin is applied with hands in all her works which gives each painting an original look.
