The leading art gallery and picture framer in East London
Born in London, Joe Murtagh started drawing since an early age. Inspired by Looney Tune, he usually used to draw characters to please his dad, but this allowed him to specialize in sculpture when he later obtained his Fine Arts degree at Sunderland University. He managed to obtain sculpture commissions after his graduation and started teaching. Attending a multimedia course at Liverpool University allowed him to learn new skills such as short films, 3d animations, web-sites and illustrator. After having worked immensely well as an all-rounder in the fields of graphic design, fashion photography and web designing, Murtagh then moved to his childhood love of making art.
Murtagh continues drawing what he views around himself using adobe illustrator which allows him to develop digital vector art. His works have been influenced by the art, film and music industry. Some of his influences include Jamie Hewlett, Andy Warhol, Nick Knight, Barbara Hepworth, and Eric Gill.
